It's about gaining a competitive advantage and it's about staying in business.  Many people ask "But what is E-Commerce?".  Often they don't even realise they have already started using it.  Facsimile machines (yes the fax), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Electronic Funds Transfer Point of Sale (EFTPOS), Automatic Teller Machines (ATM's), Internet banking, Internet share trading, selling goods and services over the Internet, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc.  These are all examples of using Electronic Commerce.
